Reverend Mark Hanson

Born in 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mark Hanson was a pastor at several congregations in Minnesota before being elected as presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America in 2000. In 2003, Bishop Hanson was named as president of the Lutheran World Federation. He is a learned theologian, and a published author of several books.
